Lewin hired to fill Mets' radio opening
WFAN announced Tuesday Josh Lewin will join Howie Rose in its Mets radio booth for 2012, replacing Wayne Hagin, whose contract was not renewed after four seasons. Lewin, 43, has called games for four major-league teams, most recently as the Rangers' TV play-by-play man from 2002-10. He also has worked national games for Fox. His most recent job was as a midday sports talk host on KRLD-FM in Dallas. He will continue as the radio voice of the San Diego Chargers. Lewin grew up as a Mets fan in Rochester.
