Justin Turner rushed back to replace Jason Bay

Justin Turner was standing on third base for the Buffalo Bisons on Friday night when manager (and third-base coach) Wally Backman told him Jason Bay had crashed into the leftfield wall at Citi Field earlier in the evening.
"He was like, 'Don't be surprised if you end up going up tomorrow,' " Turner said. "I was aware of it."
The Mets did recall Turner from his injury rehabilitation assignment and activated him Saturday night as Bay was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list.
The recall of Turner, who suffered a right ankle sprain May 28, probably occurred a few days earlier than the Mets would have liked. Turner said the ankle -- which he injured when he slammed his foot into first base going back to the bag on a rundown play -- still is "a little tender" when he first gets up in the morning.
"As soon as I start walking around, it's fine," said Turner, who played in two rehab games for Triple-A Buffalo. "When I first did it, I thought I broke it, so this is a lot quicker than that. I've [injured] my ankle several times before and been back on it in less than a week. This is a situation where we wanted to be a little more careful with it and take time and make sure I was closer to 100 percent before I was back."

The Mets announced that some tickets for Monday night's game against Baltimore will be discounted as the team continues to honor Johan Santana's June 1 no-hitter. Promenade reserved tickets will be $5.70 and field box seats will be $57. Santana wears No. 57. Tickets will be available starting at 9 a.m. Monday. The Mets will give out Santana no-hitter T-shirts to the first 25,000 fans on Tuesday, when Santana is scheduled to start.
