Francisco Rodriguez is expected back in Queens Criminal Court Wednesday morning for another arraignment, this time on a criminal contempt charge for allegedly violating his restraining order by sending 56 text messages to his fiancee. It is a Class A misdemeanor that carries a maximum one-year jail term.

The Mets closer already is facing third-degree assault and second-degree harassment charges, which also carry a year in jail if convicted. Police say Rodriguez attacked Carlos Pena, the 53-year-old father of his fiancee, Daian Pena, at the Citi Field family room after a game on Aug. 11.

Rodriguez is currently rehabbing a torn ligament in his right thumb, an injury the Mets contend occurred in the fight. His next scheduled court appearance is Oct. 7.
