Marlins' Rodriguez is permanent interim
Florida owner Jeffrey Loria is now saying that Edwin Rodriguez will remain manger for the rest of the season. That takes care of the Bobby Valentine rumors for now.
The situation has kept reporters busy. Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman, a former Newsday reporter, was the first to write that Valentine would manage the Marlins, He was also first to write Valentine would not.
Loria is becoming quite Steinbrenner-esque. He's the owenr who couldn't get along with Joe Girardi and fired him even after the Marlins were Wild Card contenders in 2006 under the future Yankees manager.
