Matt Harvey says his right knee is fine

Even a line drive to the knee can't hurt Matt Harvey.
The Mets ace said Thursday that he's OK after taking a line drive off the right knee with two outs in the ninth inning of his shutout win over Colorado Wednesday night.
"No issue at all," Harvey said. "Completely fine. As I knew [Wednesday] night, everything's OK. I woke up and everything's fine."
Harvey, scheduled to face the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Tuesday, said he iced the knee after the game and had a bruise pad on it all night. "We're all good," he said.
Second thoughts
The third-place Mets (52-60) moved to within a game of idle Washington (54-60) for second place in the NL East. How much would manager Terry Collins like to finish second?
"I think it would be huge," he said. "It would be an enormous lift . . . for the entire organization that some of these young guys have come up and contributed to what we're doing right now. We've just got to keep battling. Right now, we've got 50 [games] left. It's still an uphill climb."
Extra bases
Collins said he isn't inclined to start Ike Davis Friday night against Arizona lefthander Patrick Corbin because Davis hasn't been playing against lefthanders since his recall from Las Vegas. He has a .500 on-base percentage since the All-Star break . . . John Buck accompanied the team to Phoenix, but with his wife due to deliver a baby soon, he could be leaving quickly. Top prospect Travis d'Arnaud likely will get his first big-league call-up during Buck's paternity leave . . . The Rockies, who have lost five in a row and nine of 10, were hitless in 10 at-bats with runners in scoring position in the series.
