Mejia diagnosed with strain

David Lennon tweet: Pitcher Jenrry Mejia was examined this morning at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery. It was determined that he has a posterior cuff strain. The 20-year-old threw 43 pitches for Double-A Binghamton Sunday in his second minor league start.
[Update, 3:18 p.m. via @lenno212] Mets say Mejia will "return to throwing as tolerated." Doesn't sound great to me, but at least it's not surgery yet.
More to come on this later.
