Guess this qualifies as good news considering that there's nothing structurally wrong with the shoulder or rotator cuff. Here's the statement from the Mets:
After last night’s game, righthanded pitcher Jenrry Mejia underwent an MRI at The Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. The results revealed Mejia has a rhomboid strain of the right shoulder blade. Mejia is being shut down from throwing until full recovery. He will not return this season.
