ROGER CRAIG, 1962
10-24, 4.51 ERA, 118 strikeouts
When Craig blew a game against Pittsburgh in relief on Aug. 21, he became the Mets’ first 20-game loser. Aside from his two seasons with the Mets, Craig never lost more than 11 games in a season.

AL JACKSON, 1962
8-20, 4.40 ERA, 118 strikeouts
Jackson joined Craig as the Mets’ initial disappointing duo, losing his 20th game of the season on Sept. 22. Jackson had only 11 games (five starts) of major-league experience before the 1962 season.

ROGER CRAIG, 1963
5-22, 3.78 ERA, 108 strikeouts
Craig led the National League in losses during both 1962 (24) and 1963 (22). It's the only categories he led the league in during his 12-year career.

TRACY STALLARD, 1964
10-20, 3.79 ERA, 118 strikeouts
Stallard (right) may be most famous as the man who gave up Roger Maris’ (left) 61st home run in 1961. His tenure with the Mets certainly didn’t do him any favors. He was 6-17 in 1963 before joining the 20-loss club the next season.

AL JACKSON, 1965
8-20, 4.34 ERA, 120 strikeouts
Jackson would lose no less than 16 games during each of his first four seasons with the Mets. In 1966, he pitched for St. Louis and went 13-15. He didn’t have his first full winning season until 1967, when he was 9-4 for the Cardinals.

JACK FISHER, 1965
8-24, 3.94 ERA, 116 strikeouts
Fisher and Jackson’s 20-loss seasons in 1965 gave the Mets four consecutive seasons with a 20-game loser on their staff. It was also the second time the Mets had two 20-game losers in a single season.

JERRY KOOSMAN, 1977
8-20, 3.49 ERA, 192 strikeouts
Koosman is the only Met to both win 20 games (1976) and lose 20. Even more interesting is that he accomplished the feat in subsequent seasons.
