CHICAGO — The confines of Wrigley Field weren’t so friendly Friday.
The Mets and Cubs were rained out of their afternoon game, setting up a doubleheader Saturday. First pitches for the split-admission twin bill are scheduled for 2:20 p.m. and 8:05 p.m., meaning an awfully long second-to-last-day before the All-Star break for both teams.
Both teams decided to keep the same pitching order for the new schedule. That means it will be Taijuan Walker against Medford native and ex-Met Marcus Stroman in the day game, followed by Max Scherzer versus Drew Smyly in the nightcap.
