Mets daily links: Ike Davis callup predicted
The official word just came down that first base prospect Ike Davis has been called up from Buffalo and might be in the Mets' lineup against Chicago tonight at Citi Field. Newsday's Mets beat writer David Lennon called it in today's edition, explaining that Daniel Murphy still is a long way from coming off the disabled list.
The Mets can use a boost after a 2-4 road trip that ended with another series loss in St. Louis and another disappointing pitching performance by John Maine. Maybe if Davis delivers a few hits with men on base, it will help cure the Mets' pitching woes.
