Mets farm report: Jefry Marte
While the Mets don’t expect to be looking for a power-hitting third baseman anytime soon, they apparently have one waiting down at Class A St. Lucie, where Jefry Marte is raking so far this season.
Marte, who turns 20 next month, was batting .326 (31-for-95) through Wednesday with five home runs, six doubles, a triple and 19 RBIs in 26 games. The righthanded slugger, who is the cleanup hitter at St. Lucie, also has a .409 on-base percentage with four stolen bases.
