Mets have close to $80M committed without Jose Reyes

Sandy Alderson reiterated Monday that he still expects to have a 2012 payroll in the $100 million-$110 million range, but does not want it all to be spent before Opening Day. If so, the bulk of that money already is slotted for nine players:
