Mets centerfielder Juan Lagares was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right intercostal strain, the team announced Monday.
Outfielder Matt den Dekker was recalled to take Lagares' place on the team's 25-man roster.
Lagares traveled to New York for an MRI on Monday, which revealed the rib injury. He left Sunday's game in Philadelphia in the bottom of the 10th inning.
He started in centerfield and was 1-for-5 before feeling pain in his rib cage during his at-bat in the ninth, which ended in a strikeout. He remained in centerfield until he was double-switched out of the game before the bottom of the 10th.
