OK, so it's more head than bobble. A lot more.
But in a collision of old-school PR mongering and new-school image "branding," Mets media relations guru Jay Horwitz finally has his own bobblehead -- and you can own it, too, as the doll-sized Horwitz will be handed out on Social Media Night when the Tigers visit Citi Field on Aug. 23.
A portion of each ticket sold goes to "Hope Shines for Shannon," a foundation set up for media relations senior director Shannon Forde, who is battling breast cancer. Horwitz, whose twitter handle, @Jay_HorwitzPR, initially was set up on a dare to raise funding for the foundation, now has more than 24,600 followers.
The night also features a postgame concert by Third Eye Blind. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit Mets.com/jaybobble
