PHILADELPHIA — The Mets will get at least another day to savor that wild win.
Their game Friday against the Phillies was postponed due to rain and rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Aug. 20.
That pushed Max Scherzer's start — which was supposed to be against Kyle Gibson — to the 4 p.m. Saturday contest. That one was in question as well, though, with the forecast calling for continued rain.
And so the Mets were left to sit with their good feelings from Thursday, when they scored seven runs in the ninth inning to steal an 8-7 win.
The doubleheader on Aug. 20 will be of the split-admission variety. The makeup game will be at 1 p.m., the regularly scheduled game still at 7 p.m.
