Mets recall pitcher Manny Acosta
Righthanded reliever Manny Acosta has rejoined the Mets and will be available tonight in Los Angeles as the Mets continue a four-game series with the Dodgers.
Acosta was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 12 games with the Mets from
April 21-May 22. He allowed eight hits and eight walks with 14
strikeouts in 12 innings. He did not allow a run in his last
seven appearances.
Acosta had 36 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings with Triple-A Buffalo. To make room for Acosta, Fernando Nieve was designated for assignment.
