Mets shut down Beltran with tendinitis
From David Lennon in Florida: Carlos Beltran is being shut down for 4-5 days with left knee tendinitis...Every one of his longer issues began this way.
Beltran has been in only one spring game, appearing as the designated hitter, but did run the bases and scored from second with a slide at home plate.
``I was feeling tight,'' Beltran told Lennon after that game. ``But there was no pain, thank God.''
Beltran said he felt ``good'' soreness on Monday and was held out of exhibition play.
The latest setback is with his (non-surgical knee).
