Mets sign lefthander Tankersley
The Mets need lefthanded relief and will take a look at Taylor Tankersley, who was signed to a minor league deal that includes an invitation to spring training.
Tankersley, who will turn 28 in March, appeared in 12 games for the Marlins last year with a 7.50 ERA. He was granted free agency after refusing assignment to the minors.
Tankersley pitched for Florida from 2006-08 but missed the 2009 season with a stress fracture in his left elbow.
