Mets suspend longtime clubhouse manager Charlie Samuels
The Mets announced Thursday that longtime equipment manager Charlie Samuels had been “suspended indefinitely without pay” as part of an “ongoing personnel matter.” Samuels just finished his 27th season in that role with the Mets and is only the second person to ever hold that job with the franchise, succeeding the late Herb Norman.
The Mets declined further comment in a statement, but said the suspension had been in effect since last Wednesday.
