The Mets auditioned 38-year-old Jason Isringhausen, who pitched with them from 1995-99.
This wasn’t an invitation, just a look-see by the Mets. ``I wanted to go somewhere and see if I could make a team," Isringhausen was quoted. ``So here we are.’’
Isringhausen has 293 saves in his 14-year career. He’s had Tommy John surgery and has not pitched in the majors since 2009.
