The Mets will speak with Blue Jays assistant Dana Brown Wednesday and as the sixth candidate for the vacant GM position, he may also be the last of the first round.

Brown, 42, as an African-American, is the only minority candidate, and joined the Blue Jays after an eight-year stint with the Expos/Nationals, the last few as the team's director of amateur scouting.

Before the team begins calling back finalists, however, Sandy Alderson is scheduled to complete his initial interview Thursday. Alderson, the favorite for the job, will tour Citi Field for the first time and sit down again with chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon and interim manager John Ricco.

When the second round of interviews start, likely next week, the finalists will interview with principal owner Fred Wilpon and president Saul Katz.
