Mets try to sandwich a victory
The Mets play the Reds at 12:35 today. They used to call these early starts in baseball ``businessmen’s lunch,’’ with the idea that you’d catch a game on your lunch hour. Who do you know that gets a three or four hour lunch break?
Jonathon Niese (1-2, 3.10), who pitched the Mets to their only victory over the Phillies last week, starts against Johnny Cueto (1-1, 5.33). Niese grew up close to Cincinnati and will have some extended family in the stands. Wonder if they’ll bring their lunch.
