The Mets dumped their off-white pinstriped uniforms in favor of a new bright-white version, one of several design changes the team revealed Wednesday.

The Mets also did away with their plain bright white home jerseys, which had been a departure from tradition since they did not feature blue pinstripes. The Mets had been wearing the bright white home jerseys since 1997.

In addition, the Mets added one more cap to their rotation while making a slight change to an existing model.

The Mets' new alternate road cap features the familiar interlocking NY logo in silver lettering with an orange outline. The rest of the cap is blue.

The team's blue batting-practice hat, which features an image of Mr. Met, underwent a slight revision. The blue caps now feature an orange front panel with a blue brim. Previously, the caps were all blue except for an orange brim.

The Mets also will continue to wear their distinctive camouflage alternate jerseys.
