The Mets are carrying extended spring training into September with all of their young players.

Dillon Gee, who spent most of the season at  Triple-A Buffalo, started last night's game against the Pirates and Nick Evans, who split time between Double-A and Triple-A, ended it with a pinch hit RBI single in the 10th.

It was Evans' second game winning hit--he beat the Nationals in Washington--since being called up. He is 3-for-11 with two runs batted in--both game winners.

Ruben Tejada, another minor leaguer to start the season, set up  Evans' hit with his double  off Chan Ho Park, who is not a youngster.

Baseball tells us not to belive what we see in April or September.

We'll see.
