Morning links: Mets drop third in a row

         Killer loss last night for the Mets as Laynce Nix hit a home run off of Manny Acosta in the bottom of the 11th to give the Reds a 3-2 win. Anthony Rieber's story has all the details of the loss, which was the Mets' third in a row following their eight-game win streak.

        Mike Pelfrey didn't go with the team from Philadelphia to Cincinnati on Sunday night because he was scheduled to have a MRI on his shoulder. Rieber's sidebar had the results of that test and team reaction.

        The prognosis is not so good for Kelvim Escobar as the team as Rieber reports that the righthander will undergo season-ending surgery tomorrow to repair a torn capsule in his pitching shoulder.
