Nelson Figueroa, former Mets analyst, no longer at SNY, station says

SNY analyst Nelson Figueroa no longer works at the station, a spokesperson confirmed Saturday.
Figueroa was let go on Friday, a day after he was to appear on “Baseball Night in New York” but arrived in a state that was deemed unfit for him to work, the New York Post, citing sources, reported.
Figueroa's agent, Maury Gostfrand, declined to comment on the matter.
The incident followed a year of diminishing stature and increasing frustration for Figueroa.
He had been SNY’s lead Mets studio analyst from 2015, when he succeeded Bob Ojeda, through 2018, after which he was replaced in that role by Todd Zeile.
In recent weeks Zeile has been filling in in the game booth as Ron Darling undergoes treatment for thyroid cancer while Figueroa has seen his status seemingly sink even further.
Jim Duquette, another studio analyst, has filled in often alongside host Gary Apple.
Figueroa, 45, grew up in New York and played for the Mets in 2008 and ’09.
