Niese makes it through rehab start - Marlins next?
Jon Niese, who has been on the disabled list retroactive to May 17 with a hamstring strain, allowed two earned runs and eight hits in six innings today for Triple-A Buffalo. He struck out three and did not walk anyone in throwing 80 pitches, 57 for strikes.
Niese should be on target to make a start this weekend, and take the spot of Fernando Nieve, who filled in for John Maine on Saturday in Milwaukee.
