In the sixth inning of Noah Syndergaard's Citi Field debut, the hard-throwing righthander drilled Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez in the head.

Gomez was forced to leave the game but walked off the field under his own power after getting struck with the 96 mph fastball.

After earning his first big-league win, Syndergaard started his conversation with reporters by saying: "I just want to start by saying I hope Gomez is OK."

The rookie later took to Twitter to express the same sentiment, which led to a nice exchange with Gomez.
