Mets theme song released
Meet the Mets, which would become the club's official theme song, was introduced to the public. It was written by songwriters Ruth Roberts and Bill Katz. The lyrics were modernized in 1984 on WFAN, adding Long Island, New Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens, Uptown and Down.
