Omar Minaya likes what he sees from Beltran
The Mets GM headed down to Port St. Lucie on Monday and watched Carlos Beltran do whatever it is than Beltran is doing down there -- and MLB.com caught up with Beltran and Minaya following the center fielder's workout.
Beltran says he's ready to take the next step, which would be a minor-league rehab assignment of 21 days or so. Beltran is wearing a bulky brace on his knee, which is causing him to not be able to run as smoothly as he had in the past.
Minaya said he was pleased by what he saw. We'll see where that takes Beltran next, and how soon he gets there.
