Perez pitches for first time in a month, but same result
Oliver Perez pitched last night for the first time in 30 days.
Despite the hiatus, Perez struggled as much as he did a month ago.
He threw just one inning and served up a homer to Brian McCann on a pitch that landed perfectly in his wheelhouse. Perez was also unable to get his fastball above 88 mph. One would think Perez would be throwing harder, but perhaps he rusted a bit during his month riding the bench.
Perez has now given up 11 runs and four homers in his last 10 innings pitched.
