Before the Mets hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citi Field Sunday, they played host to another visitor: a baby raccoon.

The critter was found in the team's clubhouse weight room, but it willingly ran into a cage the Mets had handy, Adam Rubin of ESPN reported.

"I guess they have a problem," reliever Bobby Parnell joked, Rubin wrote.

The raccoon was "released into the wild" after its capture, the team announced, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

The sort-of wild run-in generated some quips among Mets fans on Twitter. Said Griffin Post:

Rich Sparago of Connecticut had another take.

"Maybe the raccoon is a 'rabid' Mets fan," he wrote.

Correction: An earlier version of this story gave the wrong name for the L.A. team the Mets are playing.
