The Yankees took two of three from the Mets over the weekend, beating the Amazins' 4-0 on Sunday behind a solid pitching performance from CC Sabathia and a grand slam from Mark Teixeira.

In the biggest Met news of the day Jenrry Mejia was sent down to the minors and Bobby Parnell up to the bigs.  One can only assume that this is to get Mejia some work as a starter, where the Mets desperately need help.

John Maine still doesn't feel well. Maine pitched a 2nd rehab start with Buffalo on Friday and still saw his fastball plodding along around 88 mph.  No indiccation was given as to what was ailing Maine, but he'll be evaluated again today. Maine has been on the DL since May 21 with weakness in his throwing shoulder.

Ken Davidoff coins the term "slumpy old men" and writes what the Yankees and Mets need to be concerned about for the rest of the season.
