Report: Mets' Matt Harvey won't throw off mound yet

The Mets have reportedly pumped the brakes on Matt Harvey's breakneck rehab schedule. The injured ace will not throw off a pitcher's mound on Tuesday as had been planned, according to the Daily News, because the team wants to exercise caution in Harvey's rehab from Tommy John surgery.
"He will just go a little slower," pitching coach Dan Warthen told the newspaper.
Harvey has targeted an August return date, perhaps an overly ambitious goal after surgery last October.
Harvey was 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA in 26 starts last season and started the 2013 MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field.
