Ike Davis has 18 home runs, second behind Darryl Strawberry, who holds the Mets' rookie record with 26. Davis has played in 125 games, Strawberry appeared in in 122 in 1983.

Strawberry, who was compared with Ted Williams when he made his debut, went on to hit 335 career homers.

Davis has passed Jay Payton and John Milner, who now share third with 17 homers. Both went on to have average power years in 12 major league seasons. Payton hit 119 homers,  Milner 131.

Milner was called the Hammer as some thought he resembled Hank Aaron, not because he hit like him.

Mark McGwire holds the rookie record for homers with 49. The legitimacy of that record, set in 1987, is uncertain.
