Houston Astros ace Roy Oswalt, who is in New York this weekend for a series against the Yankees, talked today about potentially coming to New York.

Oswalt recently said he would waive his no-trade clause to play for a winner. The Mets will likely be looking for a starter if they remain in the playoff race. The Yankees may also be interested.

Here are some quotes from Oswalt from today's pre-game availability:

"From the very beginning, I said an organization that wants to win -- and the Yankees surely want to win."

As far as coming to the big city .....

"I grew up in Mississippi, so anywhere I go is bigger anyway -- there's 500 people where I live. Any city I go to is going to be bigger. The city wouldn't be a big change."

And about the Mets .....

"I'm just kind of leaving all the options out. Someone said something about a list not too long ago. I don't know anything about that. See where I fit at, weigh the team as far as options and go from there."
