Santana's turn to stop bleeding
Next up to stop the losing streak is Johan Santana. He pitched in the last game the Mets were able to win. That was last Sunday in San Francisco. Santana allowed one run in eight innings but Francisco Rodriguez blew the save and nearly the game. A gift call by the umpire prevented the Giants from a four-game sweep.
Santana (7-5, 2.87) is 2-0 with 15 strikeouts and a 0.38 ERA in his last three starts. Matt Kemp has hit him hard (.429), but only has one RBI to show for it.
Vincente Padilla (4-2, 3.65), known as a head hunter, should have no targets in mind with these punchless Mets.
