Takashi takes the challege again
There's nothing the Mets would like more than another sharp night from Hisanori Takashi who has the start tonight against the divsion-leading Phillies.
In his debut as a starter, Takahashi (3-1, 2.53 ERA) went six scoreless innings against the Yankees on Friday night. Takahashi was a starter for almost his entire 10-year career in Japan. He has faced the Phillies once before, allowing one run in 1 1/3 innings of relief earlier this month in Philadelphia.
The Phillies will send Joe Blanton (1-2, 5.06) to the mound. In his previous start, Blanton allowed five hits and three runs in seven innings in his club's victory against the Cubs.
