The deals of Omar Minaya
If the Mets land Cliff Lee, it will be the second time GM Omar Minaya has worked a deal that included the pitcher. In 2002, when Minaya was with the Montreal Expos, he traded Lee and Grady Sizemore to Cleveland for Bartolo Colon. Lee became a Cy Young winner with the Indians.
Also that season, Minaya traded a young Jason Bay to the Mets for utility player Lou Collier. The Mets then traded Bay to San Diego for pitcher Jason Middlebrook. Several years and a king's ransom later, Bay's back.

To save their season, Mets need to be bold and take some chances
