Things go bitter with Coke
Forget about the Curtis Granderson-Austin Jackson component of the Yankees' off-season trade with Detroit. How about Phil Coke? The unheralded former Yankee relief pitcher, who was part of that deal, is having quite a season. He came back to bite the Mets last night.
The Mets trailed by a run in the seventh inning with one out. Coke struck out David Wright (who had swung at a bad pitch when the count was 2-1) and got Davis on a long fly to Jackson in center.
Coke is 5-0 with a 3.00 earned run average.
