Valentine out of contention for Marlins job?
The Mets will not be seeing Bobby Valentine in the opposing dugout tonight when they play the Marlins in Puerto Rico. Reports are filtering in that Valentine will not be hired for the job.
SI.com first reported that Valentine is no longer a candidate, but the former manager of the Mets disputed the report, saying on ESPN's Baseball Tonight, "The last I heard, the only thing I know about this managerial hiring is a process that people need to be interviewed. Decisions need to be made. I think we're right in the middle of this process."
