Will Werth prove his worth?
Rightfielder Jayson Werth makes his exhibition game debut for the Nationals againt the Mets today.
Wonder if he will have any added incentive after Mets GM Sandy Alderson chided his free agent contract of seven years for $126 million.
This is what Alderson said in the winter after the signing:
“It makes some of our contracts look pretty good. That’s a long time and a lot of money. I thought they were trying to reduce the deficit in Washington.”
Of course, Alderson spoke before we learned the extent of the Mets' financial woes.
