Feb. 17, 2004: Yankees introduce Alex Rodriguez
One day after trading Alfonso Soriano and a player to be named later for the biggest star and best player in baseball in Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees introduced their new third baseman at Yankee Stadium.
A-Rod, a shortstop then, agreed to play third base rather than supplant team captain Derek Jeter at shortstop.
