Andy Pettitte starts and closes
Andy Pettitte will be on the mound today as season two kicks off at new Yankee Stadium.
Pettitte also pitched the final game in the inaugural season of the Stadium last season, beating the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 6 of the World Series. Pettitte also closed out the L.A. Angels -- today's opponent -- in Game 6 of the ALCS.
Pettitte, who also pitched Game 3 of the ALCS against the Angels, was 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA in that series.
Overall, Pettitte was 0-2 with a 7.88 ERA in three regular-season starts against L.A. in 2009.
