Andy, Yanks expect sweeping success
Everyone thinks Andy Pettitte, this afternoon’s starter against the Orioles, had a great year in 2009 when he won 14 games. But how about this season? He is 3-0 with a 2.12 earned run average and has only given up one home run, to Chicago’s Paul Konerko, who is taking everyone deep this season. Pettitte gave up 20 homers last season.
Pettitte has had a reputation of pitching better in th second half of the season and if that holds true to form, he’ll have some incredble stats by the fall.
The Yankees could be set up to sweep the three-game series as the Orioles go with David Hernandez, who is 0-3 with a 4.55 ERA.
