YES averaged season highs of 634,527 viewers and 6.6 percent of area homes for Saturday's Rays-Yankees game in which Derek Jeter got his 3,000th career hit and went 5-for-5.

The figures almost certainly would have been higher in prime time but were impressive for a sunny summer Saturday.

Viewership and ratings peaked at 827,200 and 8.3 from 2 to 2:15 p.m., the quarter-hour after Jeter homered for his milestone hit.

YES' two-hour postgame special, "Jeter 3,000," averaged a 3.3 rating -- better than Mets games have averaged on SNY this season -- and 319,750 viewers.
