Bad trip, little change in AL East
The Yankess were 87-53 and had a 2 1/2 game lead over Tampa Bay before a nine-game road trip.
Considering a 3-6 record against Texas, Tampa Bay and Baltimore, coming home with a 90-59 record and a half-game lead over the Rays isn't so bad with two weeks left in the regular season--and a seven game home that starts tonight againts Tampa Bay.
Of course, the Rays helped the Yankees get through the bad trip as Tampa only went 5-4 in the same span. They were within one strike of being swept by the Angels in a three-game series that concluded Sunday.
