Berkman starts Yanks chipping away
It was important for the Yankees to make a quick reply to the Rangers' thunder-filled two-run third. They did what they take pride in doing: not panicking and grinding it out until they get back in the game.
"We believe in each other," Marcus Thames said before the game on YES. He had delivered the decisive hit last night that drove home the final run.
Today, it was the other half of the designated hitter platoon, Lance Berkman, who delievered the first run. He ripped a single over first, driving home Robinson Cano in the fourth to make it 5-1. It's a start.
