Berkman takes advantage of huge break
Doesn’t it always happen? A guy gets a massive break and takes advantage of it.
Lance Berkman clearly should have been out on a 1-and-2 pitch; clear to everyone except the one whose opinion counted most: Hunter Wendelstedt, the plate umpire.
Ron Gardenhire, the Twins manager, got tossed for arguing. More important, Berkman hits a double that gives the Yankees a 3-2 lead.
Reminded some of the Rays game today. Reminded me of the episode in Baltimore, when A-Rod grinned over being given a new life; then hit a game-winning homer.
