Billy, Reggie had original dugout spat

On June 18, during what would become a 10-4 loss to Red Sox, Jim Rice hit a ball into right field that Reggie Jackson, in the opinion of manager Billy Martin, loafed after. The ball dropped for a double.

Martin pulled Jackson from the game on the spot. When Jackson entered the dugout, Martin screamed at him. The two exchanged words and Martin had to be restrained by coaches Yogi Berra and Elston Howard.
